The OWL ZOOM 2 Fiber Optic Power Meter is a high accuracy, high resolution, microprocessor controlled optical power meter. It has a wide 65 dB dynamic range, and is calibrated to measure 850, 1300, 1310, and 1550nm, making it ideal for both Singlemode and Multimode Fiber Optic Testing, as well as 1490nm for measurement of FTTx PON networks. The OWL ZOOM 2 Fiber Optic Power Meter is one of the world’s most economical and precise fiber optic power meters delivering professional performance and a complete feature set for optical loss testing in both Multimode and Singlemode networks.
OWL ZOOM 2 Fiber Optic Power Meter Calibrated at 1490nm for FTTx PON Networks
The OWL ZOOM 2 Fiber Optic Power Meter is N.I.S.T. accuracy traceable and is calibrated at four commonly used industry standard wavelengths; 850, 1300, 1310, and 1550, which makes it an ideal choice for both Multimode and Singlemode testing. Additionally, the OWL ZOOM 2 is calibrated at 1490nm, making it an excellent option for measurement of FTTx PON networks.
The OWL ZOOM 2 Fiber Optic Power Meter stores reference values for all of its calibrated wavelengths, and displays optical power as an absolute value in dBm or relative to a user set “zero” reference in dB. The Zoom 2 has an intuitive two-button interface, with one button controlling power and wavelength selection, while the other is used to toggle between dBm, dB, and uW, as well as setting the optical reference, or “zero”.

NOTE: Applications such as Telco and CATV only require the use of an optical power meter to measure optical power of their transmitters. However, a majority of applications, such as optical loss measurements, will require the user to have a stabilized light source. OWL has several test kit options using the ZOOM 2, for Multimode and/or Singlemode testing or both.
