Product Description

Optical Wavelength Laboratories OWL

Dual OWL DO2-850 Multimode LED Light Scource

OWL_DO2_850The Dual OWL 850 is a handheld light source that is compact and affordable. The temperature compensated outputs are calibrated to couple -20dBm of optical power into multimode fiber. The light source is offered with a single 850nm source installed, and can be easily upgraded to include a 1300nm source.

The source is simple to operate with an intuitive 2-button interface; One button controls power, and the other selects the output wavelength. LED indicators highlight the selected source, while the battery level indicator verifies that there is sufficient battery power to maintain the calibrated output power. The unit has an extended battery life, running up to 30 hrs on one 9 volt battery. The Dual OWL 850 is NIST accuracy traceable, and is available with ST or SC connectors. Dual OWL series fiber optic light sources offer exceptional
value at an economical price. These LED-based sources provide the fiber optic installer with a stable output when testing multimode fiber optic runs.
High intensity LEDs such as the ones in Dual OWL light sources produce intense beams of infrared energy that are invisible yet harmful to the eye.

NEVER LOOK INTO A LIGHT SOURCE OR THE END OF A
FIBER THAT MAY BE ENERGIZED BY A SOURCE!
