Instek GLC-9000 BioMedical Leakage Current TesterThe Instek GLC-9000 BioMedical Leakage Current Tester performs leakage current tests on medical electrical equipment per IEC 60601-1. It additionally accommodates general purpose electronic equipment leakage measurements. Equipment types per (IEC 60990) require leakage current testing. Also, these tests are available as touch current tests.

The GLC-9000 tester offers with nine measurement networks. These networks, additionally, are often known as called Medical Measuring Devices. The Networks provide the simulation of the human body. As a result, The EUT (equipment under test) is experiencing a leakage current test using the Networks body simulation configurations. This test is in compliance with the specific standards or regulations such as IEC, UL, JIS…etc,. The GLC-9000 complies with IEC, UL and other international electrical safety standards requiring leakage current measurement.

Instek GLC-9000 Features

Network Simulates Human Body Impedance 

Leakage touch current  tests measuring electrical equipment require a circuit network that simulates the impedance of a human body. The impedance of a human body varies with the contact points, area and the path of conduction. Thus, the circuit network that simulates the impedance of a human body varies with the type of 9 different tests. As such, the safety standards used to measure leakage current also varies greatly. The circuit networks are known as measuring devices, or MD for short. MD circuits are resistor-capacitor (RC) circuits. The GLC-9000 supports 9 different measuring devices as shown below. Please note the measurement analysis of the upper left network.

Simplifies Leakage Testing

In order to provide a simple operation environment, the GLC-9000’s large TFT LCD touch panel provides access to systems’ configurations. Additionally, the touch panel displays the measurement settings information and result simultaneously. Also, there are 50 testing conditions that are available for customer usage. Each conforms to IEC60990 and other standards, for general electric equipment can be recall to reduce the setting time. In addition, 30 sets of empty memory are available for user definition setting.

Measures Extraneous Voltages w/Meter-Mode

A Meter-Mode is also available for the GLC-9000. This DVM feature uses the measurement terminals (T1/T2) for voltage measurement access. Also, during the voltage measurement, the SELV function is applicable to detect the voltage value between measuring points. This measurement function determines if the presence of voltage exceeds the SELV setting.
