Milli-Ohmmeter-Micro-Ohmmeter 50,000 Count Ohmmeters

A primary application of Milli-Ohmmeters-Micro-Ohmmeters is to MilliOhmmeters & Micro-Ohmmetersmeasure contact resistance on switches and connectors. For this application, to obtain accurately measured resistances, it is extremely critical to not disturb the contact oxides and contact finishes. Applied open circuit voltages, commonly referred to as Dry Contact measurements, in excess of 20mV have proven to be detrimental in this application. “Dry Circuit” is to limit test voltage and current to certain levels which will not cause contact surface points to produce physically or electrically changed circuit resistance conditions and its most frequently used application is contact resistance of connector/switch measurement. Based upon MIL SSTD-1344 method 3002-1, low signal level contact resistance, tests must be applied under the maximum open circuit voltage of 20mV or lower, and short circuit current of 100mA or lower to avoid over voltage for both end of of the component. The over voltage will damage the oxide coating and thin layer of contact surface, as a result the validity of measurement will then be ruined. Additionally, the over voltage can cause a molecular attraction of surface molecules between the two contact surfaces whose coupling reduces the contract resistance in contrast to that experienced in normal operation. The Instek GOM-805 is a prime example of the ideal solution for this “Dry Circuit” test condition.

Instek GOM-804 MilliOhmmeter-Micro-Ohmmeter

The Instek GOM-804 MilliOhmmeter-Micro-Ohmmeter is a more economical version of the GOM-805. The GOM-804 does everything the GOM-805 does except “Dry Circuit”, PWM and GPIB; the GPIB is optional.

Instek GOM-802 and GOM-802GP have been discontinued and replaced by the GOM-804 and GOM805 MilliOhmmeter-Micro-Ohmmeter.
