When a single 948i Hipot High Voltage Switching System is combined with a Vitrek automated Hipot tester, up to 48 test points can be scanned for high voltage isolation - multiple units make the scanning possibilities virtually unlimited in multiple sets of 48.
Vitrek's 948i is fast and easy to use so there is no excuse for using the hit-and-miss manual probing method of high voltage Hipot testing. The 948i reduces operator exposure to high test voltages while enhancing product quality and reliability. Consistent and repeatable Hipot test results are automatically documented making it simple to prove compliance with ISO 9000 quality standards for High Voltage Hipot testing of insulation resistance, insulation resistance dielectric breakdown, insulation leakage, arc detection, etc.
Set-Up is Simple
Setting up the switching pattern for the Vitrek 948i is a snap. The standard GPIB interface port allows the system controller to download, verify and activate any desired switching profile you can dream up. Or if you prefer an RS232 interface may be substituted for the GPIB interface at no additional expense. And if programming code is not your ideal way of spending the day, Vitrek's QuickTest graphical software can get you up and running in no time at all. For those who are looking for a stand alone system the 948i can be controlled directly by the Vitrek 944i AC-DC HipotTester in a PC free environment. So, no matter how you like it - Vitrek puts you in control of your automated high voltage test requirement.
A simple two channel configuration of the 948i can handle the vast majority of high voltage Hipot scanning applications. The primary consideration is the number of switching points needed to automate the task at hand. Generally, two switching points are required for each DUT test point (one for connection to the HV output and one for connection to the return). The 948i chassis is designed to hold six of the high volt eight point scanner cards. This allows up to 48 points (typically 24 on the HV bus and 24 on the return bus) to be loaded into a single unit. Of course, multiple units can be combined to increase your scanning capacity and Vitrek application engineers are always available to discuss your unique test requirement should you have any questions.

We put in an internal "watchdog" safety monitor which automatically shuts down the output in the event of an inadvertent disconnect. And the Vitrek 944i boasts an impressive user programmable "Arc Detection" circuit, capable of shutting down the high voltage system within microseconds.
For added peace of mind the onboard diagnostics of the 944i Hipot tester coupled with the 948i Multi-point HV Scanner combine to execute a complete check of all safety systems every time you power up.
