OWL WaveTester WT-1 & WT-1V Optical Fiber Power Meter WT-1 WT-1V
OWL's WaveTester's WT-1 is one of the world's most economical and precise fiber optic power meters delivering professional performance and a complete feature set for optical loss testing in both multimode MM and/or single-mode SM network applications.
OWL's WaveTester is offered in two models; the N.I.S.T. Traceable Optical Fiber Power Meter WT-1 calibrated at four commonly used industry standard wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, and 1550), which makes it an ideal choice for both multimode and singlemode testing applications. Additionally, the WaveTester WT-1 is calibrated at 1490nm, making it an excellent option for measurement of (FTTH) FTTx PON network testing. OWL's 2nd WaveTester model is the WT-1V, Visual Fault Locator.
Each model of the WaveTester can store reference values for all of its calibrated wavelengths, and displays optical power as an absolute value in dBm or relative to a user set "zero" reference in dB. Stored data points contain this reference information, and when data is downloaded into our free OWL Reporter software, the data can be certified using one of many popular cabling standards. OWL Reporter can also print professional-looking certification reports as proof to customers of a job well done. OWL Reporter data can also be saved to hard disk for later retrieval.
Other standard features include a backlit, easy-to-read LCD display and a 2.5mm universal detector port that is compatible with FC, ST, SC, DIN, and any other 2.5 mm ferrule connectors! No need to maintain expensive adapter caps! The WaveTester is protected from shock and droppage by an attractive rugged rubber boot.

Owl's WT-1 WaveTester OPTICAL FIBER POWER METER
The WaveTester WT-1 is a high accuracy, high resolution,
microprocessor controlled, optical power meter. It has a 65dB dynamic range, and is NIST traceable at 850, 1300, 1310,
and 1550nm, making it ideal for both singlemode and
multimode fiber testing. Additionally, it comes calibrated at
1490nm, allowing the meter to measure optical loss at the
wavelengths used in Fiber To The Home (FTTH) PON
networks.
It has an attractive handheld case with a backlit, graphic,
liquid crystal display, and 4-key keypad for easy operation. It
is offered with a 2.5mm universal fiber connector, will operate
for over 250 hours on a standard high-capacity 9v battery,
and has built-in auto shutdown.
The WaveTester WT-1 will store reference values for each
wavelength to be used for optical loss measurements, and
can store up to 200 measured data points.
Stored data can be downloaded to our free OWL Reporter
software to produce formatted certification reports.
Optionally, the battery charging port in the WaveTester can be
replaced with a precision-coupled visual fault locator that is
optimized for fiber optics. Its high-intensity red laser allows
for fiber identification up to 1.5 kilometers away.
This optional VFL port can also be used to check for faults
within a few feet of its launch point. When the bright red light
encounters a fault, the light is deflected into the jacket,
producing a red glow at the point of the fault. |
